By using Best Edinburgh (bestedinburgh.uk) and its free lists of Edinburgh businesses you agree to these terms.
Opinion, not advice
Each list is an editorial view of which local businesses merit a look, and in what order. Nothing on the site amounts to legal, medical, financial or technical advice, or any other kind of professional advice, and none of it promises anything about a business’s workmanship, charges, safety or availability.
We do not do the work
The site builds nothing, treats nobody, writes no quotes and takes no bookings, and readers pay it nothing. Any arrangement is made with the business itself, and the contract, any warranty or any finance agreement is yours and theirs alone.
Where the lists come from
The lists are built from public information about each business, from what its customers say, from the business’s own website and channels and from the criteria on the ‘How we select’ page. Businesses on Pro get a fuller page, and those on Top sit among the first three places of a list that already includes them. Both are labelled, and neither is an inspection or an endorsement by us.
Check the details yourself
Lists are reviewed periodically, but addresses, prices, telephone numbers and opening times can change in the meantime. Confirm anything important with the business, ask for written quotes and check any registration the job requires.
Pages claimed by owners
By claiming a listing, you confirm that you may run it and that all you add is true, lawful and fair. We may correct or remove anything that is not. Plan prices and renewal terms are displayed in your business account before you pay, and Stripe processes the payment.
Acceptable use
Please use the site fairly: nothing unlawful, no automated copying of the lists, no attempts to enter non-public areas, no impersonation and no false information.
Our content
The writing, the way businesses are chosen and ordered, the design and the name Best Edinburgh are our property or used with permission. You may quote a short extract if you link back to the page. For anything more, ask first.
Liability and governing law
Nothing in these terms limits liability where the law does not allow it to be limited. Beyond that, we are not responsible for what listed businesses do, sell or advise, or for the contents of sites we link to. Scots law governs these terms, although consumers elsewhere in the UK keep the rights of their own legal system. We may revise the terms, and the version on the page when you visit is the one that applies.
